What the engines returned

This is what AI tells your buyers you do

A preview built from your category, your competitors and the prompts buyers ask. Live answers from each engine for your brand come with the full report.

Your site's own description, side by side

Engines reconcile every place your site declares itself into a single answer. When those declarations disagree, the engines resolve the difference from third-party sources instead of from you.

Readiness · 01

Can AI reach you

Every AI company runs several crawlers with different jobs. Blocking the training bot and blocking the search bot are entirely different decisions. Only one of them stops you being cited.

AI crawler access by function

Resolved against your robots.txt, including wildcard inheritance.

User agentWhat it doesStatusEffect

Content Signals policy

The robots.txt vocabulary for declaring how your content may be used across search, AI answers and model training.

robots.txt validation

Syntax, grouping and directive placement. Parsers ignore comments, so a mislabelled block is silently wrong.

Readiness · 02

Can AI understand you

Reaching your page counts for nothing if the content is not in the HTML.

JavaScript rendering accessibility

No major AI crawler executes JavaScript. Googlebot is the only exception. This compares your raw HTML against the fully rendered page.

Can AI quote you

Snippet eligibility is a hard gate on AI Overviews and AI Mode. Structure decides whether a passage can be lifted at all.

Snippet and indexing directives

Google confirmed these control AI Overviews and AI Mode. Checked in the meta tag and the X-Robots-Tag header.

Where these recommendations come from

Engines pull from sources they already trust. This preview shows the source types that typically decide recommendations in your category. Measured citation counts for your brand come with the full report.

AI Authority Building maps every source in your category and works through getting your brand listed, mentioned or featured on the ones that matter.

Pipeline · 05

What this is costing you in pipeline

Every prompt where a competitor is recommended instead of you is a deal being shaped without you in the room. Buyers arrive at sales conversations with criteria already set by whoever AI named.

Buyers are building shortlists right now from answers you are not in

They form opinions, set evaluation criteria and pick finalists before anyone fills in a form. By the time they reach you, the comparison has already happened.

How Omnibound closes the loop

Every inbound session from AI search flows through your attribution chain, from Google Analytics to CRM, so every lead generated through AI citation is captured, attributed and visible.

Step 01

Cited

An engine names you in an answer and links the page.

Step 02

Session

The buyer lands on that page. We capture the referring engine and the prompt behind it.

Step 03

Converted

The session flows through GA4 into your CRM as an attributed lead.

Step 04

Account

You see which company it was, which page earned it, and which prompt started it.

Action plan

What to fix first

Technical and visibility work ranked together, because they compound.

From fix list to content that closes the gap

Knowing what is broken is the easy half. Omnibound scores every gap into a ranked content opportunity and rebuilds the pages behind it.

Content Opportunities

Every gap ranked by citation potential and pipeline value, with the brief attached.

Content Audit Grid

Every page, not ten

Your whole site scored against the prompts your buyers ask, so nothing gets missed.

AI Authority Building

Placement on the third-party sources engines already trust in your category.

AI Analytics

Proof it worked

Citations tracked through to sessions, leads and named accounts.

This audit used the questions we could infer. Your buyers ask different ones.

The prompts that decide deals rarely appear in any keyword tool. They come from the language of buying: sales calls, CRM notes, support tickets, reviews, lost-deal reasons. Omnibound extracts them and shows you where you stand on the questions that actually move pipeline.

  • Your real prompt set, pulled from buyer conversations
  • Which persona and buying stage each prompt belongs to
  • Competitor share of voice across all 19+ prompts
  • The third-party sources getting your competitors recommended
  • Brand sentiment and how it shifts over time
  • Every citation tracked to sessions, leads and named accounts
30 minutes, walked through your own results

What you get

Five questions, answered in under a minute

Most tools give you a number. This gives you the answer the engines are giving your buyers, and what it is doing to your pipeline.

01

Can AI reach you

Block the wrong crawler and you're invisible to ChatGPT, even while Google sees you fine.

  • Search vs training vs user-triggered bots
  • Wildcard inheritance calculated
  • Content Signals policy
  • robots.txt syntax validation
02

Can AI understand you

What the crawler actually receives, not what your marketing site claims.

  • JavaScript rendering accessibility
  • Entity and category clarity
  • Schema validated per property
  • sameAs and entity grounding
03

Can AI quote you

Structured to be lifted into an answer, or structured to be skipped.

  • Answer block coverage
  • Sitemap health
  • Tables, lists and headings
04

Does AI recommend you

Mentioned and recommended are different outcomes. We track both, separately.

  • What each engine says you do
  • Brand sentiment per engine
  • Competitors named instead of you
  • Sources getting them recommended
05

What it costs you

Every prompt a competitor wins instead of you is a deal shaped without you in it.

What most checkers miss

Three reasons a site looks AI-ready and is not

The common assumption

"We allow GPTBot, so we are open to ChatGPT."

Most audits check for a handful of named bots and return a green tick.

What is actually true

GPTBot has nothing to do with ChatGPT search.

GPTBot collects content for model training. OAI-SearchBot builds the index behind ChatGPT's search citations, and it is controlled separately. Allow one, block the other, and you are invisible in ChatGPT while believing you are wide open.

The common assumption

"We rank well in Google, so AI can read us."

Search rankings are treated as proof that crawlers see the page.

What is actually true

Googlebot renders JavaScript. AI crawlers do not.

If your content is client-rendered, Google sees a full page and ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity see a loading shell. A site can rank on page one and be entirely absent from AI answers.

The common assumption

"We are getting mentioned, so we are winning."

Mention counts are reported as the headline metric.

What is actually true

Being cited and being recommended are different outcomes.

Engines routinely cite a brand as a source while recommending a competitor in the same answer. If you only track mentions, you will report growth while losing every shortlist.

FAQ

Questions

What is an AI visibility checker?

An AI visibility checker shows whether AI engines mention and recommend your brand when buyers ask questions in your category. This audit goes further by also checking whether those engines can technically reach, read and quote your site, since a brand that is invisible to AI crawlers can never be cited regardless of how strong its content is.

Why does allowing GPTBot not get me into ChatGPT?

GPTBot collects content for model training only. The crawler that builds the index behind ChatGPT's search citations is OAI-SearchBot, and it is controlled separately in robots.txt. A site can allow GPTBot, block OAI-SearchBot, and be entirely absent from ChatGPT search while appearing fully open to AI.

My site ranks well in Google. Why would AI not see it?

Googlebot renders JavaScript. AI crawlers do not. If your main content is client-rendered, Google sees a complete page while ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity receive a loading shell. It is the most common invisible failure in AI search.

What is the difference between a mention and a recommendation?

A mention means the engine named your brand or cited your page. A recommendation means it told the buyer to choose you. Engines frequently cite one brand as a source while recommending a different one in the same answer, which is why mention counts alone give a misleading picture of performance.

Does blocking Google-Extended remove me from AI Overviews?

No. Google-Extended is a training opt-out token with no crawler behind it. AI Overviews and AI Mode are served through Googlebot and controlled by snippet directives such as nosnippet and max-snippet.

Is the audit free?

Yes. No signup and no card. You get the full technical readiness audit, what each engine says about your brand, and coverage across the first two stages of the buyer journey. The complete prompt set, competitor comparisons and pipeline attribution come with Omnibound.

Is Omnibound an AI visibility tool?

Visibility tracking is one part of it. Omnibound is an AI search growth platform. It finds the questions your buyers actually ask, builds the content that earns citations, grows your authority on the sources AI trusts, and connects every citation to inbound leads and pipeline. This audit is the diagnostic.

Get cited. Get found. Drive Pipeline.

Omnibound turns every gap in this audit into content buyers ask for, citations engines trust, and pipeline you can measure.
