📘 Zoom App Integration Documentation

Welcome to the documentation for integrating Zoom with our platform. This guide will walk you through what our app does, how to connect your Zoom account, and how your data is handled securely.

1. 🔍 Overview

Our app securely connects with your Zoom account to fetch your cloud recordings and their transcripts. Each transcript is processed using AI embeddings and stored as vectors in a Pinecone vector database. This enables powerful features such as:

  • Actionable meeting insights (e.g., identifying action items like "Follow up with Client X")
  • Searchable meeting history
  • Contextual recommendations (e.g., suggesting topics based on past discussions)

Our goal is to help you derive maximum value from your recorded Zoom meetings.

2. 🔗 Installation & Authorization Steps

Follow these simple steps to connect your Zoom account:

  1. Log in to our platform.
  2. Navigate to Input Data > Video Calls.
  3. You will find the “Connect” button beside the Zoom icon. (Other integrations like Google Meet and Microsoft Teams are also available here.)
  4. You will be redirected to Zoom’s authorization page.
  5. Grant the requested permissions to allow secure access to your cloud recordings.
  6. Once authorized, your past and future cloud recordings will be fetched and processed automatically.

No additional setup is required.

3. 🔐 Permissions (OAuth Scopes)

Our app requests only the necessary permissions to perform its function effectively:

    • cloud_recording:read:list_user_recordings: Allows us to list and access your Zoom cloud recordings and their transcripts for processing.

4. ⚙️ Post-Authorization Behavior

Once you have successfully authorized your Zoom account, the following will occur automatically:

  1. We fetch your Zoom cloud recordings and their associated transcripts.
  2. Transcripts are embedded and stored in Pinecone to enable fast semantic search and analysis.
  3. Metadata, such as the meeting topic, start time, and transcript status, is stored securely to track which files have been processed.

All processing is secure and optimized for real-time updates.

5. 📊 Where You Can View the Results

You can view insights derived from your processed Zoom recordings in our platform’s
Insights and Recommendations page

Here, you’ll find AI-generated insights based on your recordings, recent conversations, social media, and CRM data. These insights are organized into:

  • Category: Topics like Customer Engagement, Loyalty Programs, or Review Management.
  • Insights: Key findings, such as customer feedback trends or competitive analysis (e.g., "25 customers registered as promoters in last week’s NPS survey").
  • Task Recommendations: Actionable next steps, such as scheduling follow-ups or revising onboarding sequences, which you can add to your task list.

6. ❌ How to Disconnect or Revoke Access

If at any point you want to revoke access to Zoom:

  1. Return to Input Data > Video Calls.
  2. You will now see a Disconnect button where the Connect button previously appeared.
  3. Click Disconnect to revoke authorization.

Alternatively, you can also uninstall the app directly from Zoom:

  1. Go to Zoom App Marketplace > Manage > Installed Apps.
  2. Find our app and select Uninstall.
