Slack App Integration Documentation 

Welcome to the documentation for integrating Slack with Omnibound. This guide walks you through what integration does, how to connect your Slack account, and how your data is securely managed.

Add to Slack

You can connect Slack with Omnibound in just two simple steps: 

For Notifications

  • Click the “Add to Slack” button below to allow Omnibound to send alerts and updates directly to your selected Slack channels.
  • You’ll be redirected to the Omnibound platform to log in and confirm your Slack connection.

  • Click the “Add to Slack” button below to enable Omnibound to analyze Slack conversations for insights and trends.
  • You’ll be redirected to the Omnibound platform to log in and complete the setup.

Overview

The Omnibound + Slack integration helps marketing and operations teams stay connected, informed, and productive — directly within Slack.

By connecting Slack with Omnibound, users can: 

  • Receive real-time notifications and alerts as Slack DMs. 
  • Analyze team conversations to uncover collaboration patterns and insights 
  • Automate actions and trigger AI-driven recommendations based on communication data 

All actions and insights remain private to your workspace and fully comply with Slack’s data and privacy policies.

Installation & Authorization Steps

Follow these steps to connect your Slack workspace with Omnibound: 

For Notifications – Slack 

Enable Slack notifications to receive alerts, reminders, and workflow updates directly in Slack. 

Add to Slack (Notifications) 

  1. Log in to your Omnibound workspace. 
  2. Go to Configuration Settings → Notifications in your Omnibound workspace. 
  3. For Enable Channel, enable the Slack toggle. 
  4. You’ll be redirected to the Slack authorization page — enter your workspace’s Slack URL and select Continue, then click the “Install Omnibot” button to grant Omnibound permission to send you direct messages in slack. 
  5. Once connected, you’ll start receiving real-time alerts, workflow updates, and reminders directly as Slack DMs. 
  6. To disconnect, go to Configuration Settings → Notifications → Slack → Disable.

For Data Source – Slack 

Connect Slack as a data source to let Omnibound analyze selected conversations and generate insights. 

Add to Slack (Data Source – Chat) 

  1. Log in to your Omnibound workspace. 
  2. Navigate to Data Sources → Chat → Slack. 
  3. Click Connect to start the Slack authentication process. 
  4. You’ll be redirected to the Slack authorization page — enter your workspace’s Slack URL and select Continue, then click the “Install Omnibot” button. After installation, you’ll be redirected to a screen where you can choose which Slack channels Omnibound should analyze. 
  5. Enable Conversation Intelligence and select save to generate AI-powered insights. 
  6. To stop syncing data, go to Settings → Integrations → Slack → Disconnect. 
     This will immediately revoke access and remove all connected data sources.

Permissions (OAuth Scopes)

Omnibound requests only the minimum required permissions to ensure secure communication and insight generation: 

  • chat:write — to send direct messages and notifications in Slack 
  • channels:history or im:read — to read messages (only if the user enables Conversation Insights) 

 We do not request write access beyond notifications. 
 All permissions are used exclusively for insight generation and are fully secure. 
 You can revoke access at any time from your Slack workspace. 

 

Post-Authorization Behavior 

After successful authorization: 

  • Omnibound securely syncs approved Slack channels or DM data. 
  • Our AI models analyze team conversations to Marketing related insight. 
  • Above marketing related Insights are sent as Real-time notifications to marketers to make them quickly act on the insight. 

 

Where You Can View the Results 

After integration, Slack-sourced insights are available under AI Insights in Omnibound. The information from slack channels is analyzed by Omnibound and it is tagged for an insight like below (example) 

  • Category: e.g., Messaging & Positioning 
  • Insight: e.g., Market trend or emerging need identified 

For each insight, Omnibound collects information from different data sources like calls, CRM, emails, and slack is one of them. Users can click on an insight to view the specific Slack messages that triggered it, providing full context behind the finding. Based on the insight, users can take appropriate actions directly within Omnibound. Additionally, all insights are delivered as real-time notifications and direct messages in Slack, ensuring users never miss important updates or action items.

 

How to Disconnect or Revoke Access 

You can revoke Slack access at any time: 

From Notifications: 

  1. Go to Configuration Settings → Notifications → Slack 
  2. Click Disable to stop receiving Slack notifications.
 

For Data Source – Chat: 

  1. Go to Data Sources → Chat → Slack 
  2. Click Disconnect to revoke access and stop syncing Slack conversations.
